Director’s Bio- Ms. Preeti Jain

Preeti firmly believes that every child needs a home after coming from school and not another school. And she strives to make this belief a reality at Tulip.

Prior to starting the Hollenbeck branch of TAS, Preeti worked on a wide range of technologies for 13+ years in companies spanning Verisign, Paypal & Google. She started her career in 1996 in a small technology startup in Pune, India and the last tech company she worked for, was Google. When her younger daughter was 6months old, she decided she wanted to stay home to be with her children and resigned from Google. As a mother, those years she spent working in the tech industry, truly brought the challenges faced by working moms to the fore. She developed deep empathy for parents working in the high stress industries like technology and, as a mother, developed a unique ability to understand every child’s needs.

At Tulip, she lays equal emphasis on academics and extra-curricular activities, and is keenly aware that children coming from school are usually very hungry and believes that feeding them a healthy and hearty snack is essential to help them focus and enjoy the planned activities that follow.

Her other passions are cooking and gardening. She absolutely loves to cook food with fresh ingredients and while her Indian cooking chops are good, she takes particular pride in the fresh and delicious pesto sauce she can make in minutes. She’s always looking to challenge herself then be it learning how to bake cakes/cookies or running the San Francisco half marathon. While she relishes challenges, she finds nothing more calming and therapeutic than tending to her strawberry plants and flower beds in the backyard.

Preeti has a Masters in Computer Science from Pune University in India. She and her husband, Parag, have been living in Sunnyvale for more than a decade and are both having the time of their lives raising their 2 lovely daughters (age 7 & 3).
