Site Director's Bio
I completed coursework from De Anza College with a certification in Child Development and Site supervisor. I have over 18 years working in education at Bethel Lutheran School. I started at Bethel as a volunteer, which led into a job offer. I was fortunate enough to have both of my children attend the preschool and elementary school programs. Over the years, I have taught preschool 3’s, 4’s, and Jr. Kindergarten. During the summer I was lead teacher for preschool Science sessions as well as lead teacher for 1st/ 2nd grade combo class. Last year would have been my 11th year teaching Jr.
Kindergarten. I was given the opportunity to lead the school as the director of the preschool and after school care programs. I feel it has really come full circle. I am truly working at my dream job. My education philosophy is that children need to feel that others care for them and that God loves them. Securities in these areas lay a solid foundation for academic growth and learning. I enjoy working at BLS because I have support from the staff and devoted parents by my side. Working with children and supporting their families along their education journey feels so natural, I feel it is what I’m destined to do. My favorite bible verse is “Faith, it does not make things easy it makes them possible. Luke 1:37. I’m excited and anxious to work with my team and partner with Tulip Kids this year, as we create more opportunities for learning and making memories with more families in our community. In my spare time I enjoy baking cakes, party planning, bike riding, shopping and backyard bbq’s with my family.
I look forward to working as a team with you to help your child grow and thrive as a student this year and for many years to come here at Tulip Kids.
Blessings,
Mrs. Nikki Hufana
Teachers

Ms. Jenny
My name is Ms. Jenny. I have been teaching at Tulip Kids since 2020. My family is from Nicaragua, I speak Spanish fluently. Teaching has been my passion since I was 18 years old, where I began my journey as a teacher at SFSU. I worked and studied early education for 4 years then I had my daughter, Athena. My journey as a teacher turned into a first-hand experience with my own daughter. My favorite hobby is taking my daughter to the zoo with her dad, my partner, Gregory. I love leading sensory activities and observing children’s discoveries. I find joy in capturing moments in photographs and sharing them with families. As much as my kiddos grow, I also grow as an educator. Some of my hobbies include family outings with my daughter and her father/my partner, visiting grandparents, and watching movies together. I see myself teaching many years from now.

Ms Varsha
Varsha is a super motivated and dedicated preschool teacher. She is very patient and calm and loves to engage with young children during their early years of development. She believes in the fact that every child is different, and needs to be dealt with uniquely, for their best development.
Varsha has a diverse educational background – she holds a “Master’s in Business Studies” and also a degree in “Company Law”, both from India. For her “Early Childhood Education”, she went to De Anza College, Cupertino where she honed her skills in working with young children and got her certificate/license.
In her free time, Varsha likes to decorate the house, being crafty, cook, and spend time with her daughters and family.

Ms Vivian Huynh
I have completed a child development degree, with honors, from California state university, Los Angeles, and my early childhood certification from De Anza college. Since high school, I have had an affinity for working with young children. I love watching them grow and flourish as individuals, especially through my experiences working with autistic children and in preschools. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, exploring nature, traveling, and DIY projects.

Ms. Paramita
My name is Paramita Chowdhury. I did my Master’s in Linguistics, did PhD in hindustani classical vocal music, and diploma in fine arts, and a diploma in computer applications from India. I did diploma in dance. Right now, my goal is to complete AA degree in childcare education from De Anza college and I have completed some leadership courses from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
When I was six grade student, I realized that I am a passionate and dedicated teacher because my first teaching career started at that age. From my teenage I used to love to teach my age group students and friends. I played volleyball and badminton at national level back in India. I was also athlete.
I have more than 22 years of experience in teaching elementary and middle school students (India and USA). In my teaching career, my focus is love and creating opportunities for children to become honest, confident and successful in their life. My creative teaching method helps the child to be a good human being in the community as well as the world. I am an expert in developing teams and individuals and I have excellent communications skills.

Ms Kristyn
Hi, my name is Kristyn I’m infant teacher at Tulip Kids. I have been working with children over 20 years. I have experience working with preschool as well as school aged. I attended Ohlone and Gavilan collage I received ECE units and certificates. A quote I like about teaching is ” Teacher because you are someone smiles today, gained more confidence learned something, new and felt inspired. You are a work of heart.” By Star Seller. It is exciting experiencing the transition from infant to toddler. There are so many milestones that infants go through. Rolling, over, sitting up, walking, and talking. I’m caring and enjoy watching grow and explore.
Somethings I enjoy doing are going on walks, riding my bicycle and cooking. Also spending time with family and friends. I enjoy being a part of Tulip Kids organization

Ms. Jeeti - Substitute Teacher
My name is Ms. Jeeti. Currently I co-lead the Frog Room with Mrs. Hazarika. Children are my passion; they are the most unique and special creation of God.
I graduated with my B.A. in English Literature from Government College for Women in India. During my second year of graduate school, I married my late husband and began a new life in the States. I operated and ran my own licensed home daycare, and for 10 years was a private business owner in the restaurant industry before transitioning full-time into Early Childhood Education. I attended Foothill and De Anza Colleges, completing 40.5 units in ECE, including 6 units in Site Administration (Adult/Program Supervision).
My second career spans 34 years in Education, 32 years full-time in the field of Early Childhood: I have taught and nurtured infants to Pre-K (TK) students, including elementary school-age students through volunteering with Reading Partners and Project Cornerstone. For 9+ years I taught Sunday School (Safe Church trained) to preschoolers and was an adult bible study leader for ten years with Bible Study Fellowship (BSF).
My favorite hobby is spending time with my family and friends, simply hanging out. I have three beautiful daughters who are the joy of my life! J I also love to garden and have my quiet time with Jesus.
My favorite verse is Micah 6:8 – “This is what the Lord asks of you: only this, to act justly, to love tenderly, and to walk humbly with your God.”
